Our Mission
Amador County wine grape growers have been growing premium wine grapes in the historic gold country of the Sierra Nevada Foothills for more than 150 years. The mission of the Amador County Wine Grape Growers' Association is to promote Amador County wine grapes to grape buyers and winemakers. To support this mission, the Association provides information and education to members and supports research in viticulture applicable to Amador County.
Medal Winning Vineyards
The premium wines that are produced from Amador County grapes are regular medal winners, and are increasingly gaining recognition throughout the wine industry. Amador County’s wine grape industry is flourishing with a substantial amount of new acreage planted each year and new growers joining the ranks of seasoned growers. The Wineries
The wineries and tasting rooms in the county continue to grow as well. Amador County is now home to more than three dozen wineries, many of whose wines have gained recognition beyond California. Sixty percent of the grapes grown in Amador County are used by winemakers in other wine regions and by well-known wineries throughout California. See our current
